Last Week's Links 8-24-20

Before we get to the links:

The health and safety of our patients and team is our highest priority. We are continuing to schedule by appointment only to allow for the thorough cleaning of surfaces between visits. We are limiting the number of people in the office at any given time, and we are following other suggested guidelines for safety and prevention to ensure a clean, stress-free environment for everyone.

If this crisis has showed us anything it’s how important it is to have a high level of durable baseline health and resilience—now more than ever!

Without further ado, here are the links from our Rom Family Chiropractic Facebook page and all the good stuff we posted over the  last week!

We like to post things on a wide variety of health topics, but it can all be broken down into 5 broad categories:

1. Being well-adjusted
2. Eating well
3. Moving well
4. Thinking well
5. Sleeping well

Here are the links we posted from last week:

The Unmapped Chemical Complexity of Our Diet

We know so little about the complexity of the foods we eat.

Health at Home: Exercise Helps Alleviate Students’ Anxiety as Online Learning is on the Horizon

“It’s so important for children to get out and move and play and have fun.”

“Exercise helps a child physically and mentally, particularly when they are inside much of the time. There is a connection between physical play and a child’s mental state. Exercise definitely helps people not be so stressed out.”

Association of Outdoor Artificial Light at Night With Mental Disorders and Sleep Patterns Among US Adolescents

Scientists See Signs of Lasting Immunity to Covid-19, Even After Mild Infections

“Scientists who have been monitoring immune responses to the virus are now starting to see encouraging signs of strong, lasting immunity, even in people who developed only mild symptoms of Covid-19, a flurry of new studies suggests…”

“This is exactly what you would hope for…”

“Things are really working as they’re supposed to…”

The purpose of Chiropractic is (and always has been) to help your body work the way it’s ‘supposed to’ in order to give you the highest levels of resilience and durability no matter what challenges life may bring.

COVID-19 Severity in Europe and the USA: Could the Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Play a Role?

“Our analysis indicates that receiving seasonal influenza vaccination(s) in the past might be an additional risk factor for the elderly in terms of enhanced susceptibility to infection with SARS-CoV-2 and higher likelihood of a lethal outcome in case of infection. More research about this possible risk factor is urgently needed.”

How Quality Sleep Boosts Your Immune System

When it comes to your health, sleep is your armor.

Research shows that people who are sleep deprived, or consistently miss out on quality sleep, are not only more likely to get sick after being exposed to a virus, but their bodies take longer to recover when they’re hit with an illness.

PLEASE REMEMBER:

Our offices will continue to see patients BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. This will allow us to space out visits and allow for minimizing contact.

We are still here, still serving the community and helping people in this time of great stress and uncertainty. We are keeping the office extra clean & sanitized—wiping down all surfaces consistently as well as wiping down tables after every adjustment. We even have cleaning products in the rooms, if you feel more comfortable doing it yourself.
