One of the things we talked about at last Saturday’s “How to Boost You Immunity” workshop was how glucose (sugar) blocks essential vitamin C from getting into cells.

Vitamin C is critical for immune function. If you want to boost immune function–look for sources of vitamin C that are low in sugar: bell peppers, oranges, grapefruit–yes!!

Whole food sources are far superior to fruit juices because fruit juices don’t have the fiber that slows sugar uptake in the body–more glucose (sugar) means less vitamin C and poor immune function!
